  • Hilton terminating franchise agreement with Las Vegas Hilton

    From today's Las Vegas Review-Journal:

    Hilton Worldwide confirmed Wednesday it has terminated its franchise license agreement with the Las Vegas Hilton.

    The termination of the agreement with Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions LLC, owner and operator of the Las Vegas Hilton, will be effective on Jan. 1, 2012, a Hilton Worldwide spokesman said.
    The article doesn't indicate what brand will be taking over, nor does it eliminate the possibility that a new agreement will be drafted with Hilton before the end of the year.

    I'm surprised it's lasted this long. I wouldn't be surprised to see Colony Resorts slap a brand of their own on the place. The Las Vegas Hilton will have a bigger branding issue than the Flamingo when they simply dropped the "Hilton" portion of their name.
